This calendar week has delivered a assortment of information about the future of Lot 2 that has presented me not just information overload, simply quite possibly also information diabetes. It's been a lot to absorb. Perhaps the biggest surprise from Tuesday's rich spread of announcements was an omission: Contrary to the leaks, which have differently tested spot happening, The Witch World-beater will not add a new Darkness-based subclass when it arrives next February. Bungie rather outlined its plans to bring the existing Light subclasses upwards to the very standard of customisability as Stasis, which is the Darkness subclass that was added with the Beyond Light expansion conclusion year.

Some fans were still suspicious. Donated that the star topology of The Witch Queen is Savathûn, the Beehive goddess of deception, couldn't Bungie just cost bullshitting?

As information technology turns verboten: No.

In the in style This Week at Bungie blog, the studio leaves No board for doubt. "There will be no new Darkness subclass with The Witch Queen or through year 5," wrote sandbox discipline lead Kevin Yanes. "We made the call to refocus ourselves on Light subclasses this year. As you'll view below this doesn't just mean a port but also new and exciting stuff too."

He goes along to say that Bungie also South Korean won't be adding more Aspects and Fragments to Stasis, meaning that the subclass is essentially complete in terms of the perks you can commingle and match. And aboveboard I get into't anticipate there to be any complaint nearly that: Stasis is incredibly flexible As is. "We feel like the subclass build variety is in a good spot and was believable to benefit from tuning changes more than new stuff."

From there the post dives into how the Void revamp is shaping risen. It's the first of the Light subclasses being tuned, with Solar and Arc due to follow in subsequent seasons. Here's  gameplay designer Samuel Dunn:  "We're taking the subclasses you know and love and remixing them. That means adding early abilities and mechanism, ditching some cold ones where information technology makes sense to do thus, and spreading out existing ones to create enticing sunrise combinations. Our trust is to retain playstyles you know and love today and to make up some exciting new ones you didn't even know you wanted."

In that location's a ton of detail thereafter virtually what that will mean specifically for you purple-slinging Titans, Hunters and Warlocks, including a glimpse at some solely inexperienced abilities and the promise that we'll still represent able to expend old faithful perks like Devour. As e'er, if you're as invested with in this stuff as I am, I advocate reading the whole thing. Speaking of which, earlier today I got off the phone with Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn and general manager Justin Tilman. We talked all things Witch Queen regnant, Temper of the Lost, and even whatsoever far future stuff. That interview will be up early side by side week, and you won't want to neglect information technology.

Tim Clark

With over two decades coating videogames, Tim has been there from the rootage. In his case, that meant playacting Elite group in 'co-op' along a BBC Micro (one player uses the movement keys, the other shoots) until his parents finally caved and bought an Amstrad CPC 6128. These days, when not steering the neat ship PC Gamer, Tim spends his time complaining that completely Non-Christian priest mains in Hearthstone are degenerates and raiding in Destiny 2. He's almost for certain doing one of these rightish at once.
